The Department of Railway transport of Transgroup specializes in rail transportation of goods from Europe to Russia, CIS countries and vice versa. It causes necessity to transship goods from wagons of European standard gauge lines to wagons of broad gauge lines, from trucks to wagons at the Byelorussian-Polish border.
The main transport corridor, connecting Europe and Russia and other CIS countries, goes through Brest. Here is the place where the majority of cargoes transported from East to West and vice versa are directed and conveyed to the specially equipped terminal for transshipment of goods, carried out by Transgroup.

Rail transportation of some goods is cheaper then road transportation. But the necessity to transship cargoes and reduce risks of their damage or loss force freight holders to give preference to road transportation although it’s more expensive. It would be justified if no forwarder experienced in transshipment is involved which increases the possibilities of unfavorable outcome of the transportation. But if a rail forwarder carries out and controls transportation as well as transshipment all risks are reduced to zero and rail transportation gains advantages.
